NewsBattles confirm North American outingBattles have announced a lengthy tour of North America, kicking off next month in Charlottesville, VA. The New York band will tour to promote the release of their debut album 'Mirrored', coming out May 22. Currently on tour in Europe, they will hit London next week (May 16) for a show at La Scala. The album beat nine other releases from finalists such as Hot Chip, Joanna Newsom, Regina Spektor, and Tom Waits. The Shortlist Prize was launched in 2001, and was won in its maiden year by Sigur Ros. Subsequent winners were NERD, Damien Rice and TV On The Radio. Among the artists voting for this year's winner were Snow Patrol member Gary Lightbody, The Killers' Ronnie Vannucci, Franz Ferdinand, KT Tunstall, Panic! At The Disco, and The Flaming Lips' frontman Wayne Coyne. |
